The Wall Street Journal reports that 40% of college grads aren’t even looking for a job. That’s a huge mistake. The job market WILL turn and they will miss the ship.
What can YOU do during this time? Start NOW by identifying your dream job and buliding your resume so that when the market does turn you are ready.
Example: Our client, John, wants to work in brand management for a sports apparel company. Although he is trying to get that job by networking, he has also identified three other small companies he can pursue to get an entry level marketing job. He is also pursuing a part time job at a local health club to market their golf tournaments.
Did John go to school to work part time? NO. But he has a plan to get the experience he needs. When his dream job opens up, he will apply. Most likely, he will have to compete with other college grads for the same position. Hopefully, he will compete against the 40% who are putting thier heads in the sand now.
