It’s not unusual to be undecided about your career path. For many people, it’s hard to decide on a field you’ll be working in for years to come. Many experts advise to find your passion and turn it into a career. It sounds easy, but to someone who doesn’t have many interests — or has too many — it can be tricky.
If you are unsure about your passion, here are three ways you can find it:
- Consider your hobbies and interests. What do you like to do for fun? On the weekends? There are many hobbies you can turn into some type of career or job. For example, if you like scrap booking your old pictures, you may enjoy a job selling scrap book supplies, either at a store or as an independent consultant. Try not to focus on what others expect or want you to be doing. Outside pressure often pushes people into career paths that aren’t right for them.
- Think back to your childhood. Was there something you truly enjoyed when you were younger? Maybe in high school you enjoyed helping your friends on the team you were on. Ever thought about being a coach? Think about ways that you have helped people in the past and what you do to help people now.
- Take into account your natural traits. Are you an organized person? A great cook? Think outside of the “cubicle” to determine a job you would love to have. Then, try and fit that vision into your life in some way. Your values can play a large role in where you would be comfortable working also. Sometimes, family and friends tell you you would be great in a certain career, or you feel like you have an attraction to some cause or organization.
You will be happy working in an environment where you truly have a passion. What are some ways you turned your passion into a career?

The interface is colorful, has more flair, and some cool features like ‘Mixview’ that let you quickly see related albums, songs, or other users related to what you’re listening to. Clicking on one of those will center on that item, and another set of “neighbors” will come into view, allowing you to navigate around exploring by similar artists, songs, or users. Speaking of users, the Zune “Social” is also great fun, letting you find others with shared tastes and becoming friends with them. You then can listen to a playlist created based on an amalgamation of what all your friends are listening to, which is also enjoyable. Those concerned with privacy will be relieved to know you can prevent the public from seeing your personal listening habits if you so choose.
Hands down, Apple’s app store wins by a mile. It’s a huge selection of all sorts of apps vs a rather sad selection of a handful for Zune. Microsoft has plans, especially in the realm of games, but I’m not sure I’d want to bet on the future if this aspect is important to you. The iPod is a much better choice in that case.
