What People Earn

What People Earn

The annual what people earn article was in the Parade magazine today. It always amazes me what certain jobs pay. I know there are geographic differences but what about the value certain jobs add to our society? There is an aerobics instructor from Wisconsin who earns $78,000 yet an MRI technician from Baton Rouge earns $48,000. I mean, really… aerobics is great and I partake frequently but if I needed an MRI, I think that woud take priority. I recently heard of a 31 year old man who worked on Wall Street and earned $7.1 million. That’s for one year’s work. That’s a lot of money. I worked in financial services for many years and I never saw that kind of coin.
Clients often ask me about money when they are looking at various jobs and career opportunities. When you are first starting out, it’s tempting to go with a big paycheck. But remember one thing: you will get used to a big paycheck real fast but you will never get used to doing a job you hate.
